I wish to commend the Indonesia's Nature Resources Conservation Agency,(BKSDA) Papua for their swift action in following up on the discovery of live endemic wildlife trade in several areas of Papua. In the latest operation, officers discovered more than 60 live birds intended for sale, as well as 54 others that had been killed, preserved, and made into decorative crowns from Birds of Paradise feathers. All evidence was seized from a number of souvenir traders in harbour and market areas. (…)
