Does the left actually have its own security policy, one that could be implemented if circumstances suddenly permitted it? Again and again we have seen that strong protests, deep concern and harsh condemnation do little to prevent the worst from happening, whether in Ukraine, Gaza or elsewhere. Those with power ignore them, and those without laugh. What is decisive is the ability to influence outcomes, an ability that does not simply arise by claiming high moral ground.
