During a White House Easter lunch, US President Donald Trump made racist comments on people of Somali origin, calling them “low-IQ” and “bad people”.
On Wednesday, 1 April, US President Donald Trump attended an Easter lunch in the East Room of the White House. During the event, Trump called Somalia “just terrible” and “probably the worst, most dangerous country” with “no government” and “no police”. Despite police pressures and intimidation, the rally was addressed by the Mahmood Achakzai, the opposition leader at National Assembly and Salman Akram Raja, general secretary Pakistan Tahreek Insaaf of former jailed prime minister Imran Khan.
The majority of participants were women workers, thanks to Labour Education Foundation and Pakistan Kissan Rabita Committee who mobilized over 600 women workers for the rally.
